Almas, Muses and Guardian Angels

The best things I do in the classroom with my students have somehow come from a connection from other teachers.  Who has inspired  me?

My own colleagues at Marcus Whitman.
My circle of DIVA (Deeply Involved in a Variety of Activities) language teacher friends.
My sons' teachers from elementary school.
The Sunday School teachers.
My sisters.
The teachers I had.
The teachers on FLTEACH, moretprs and moretprs.net
The New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers.
Blogging teachers.
Marathon running teachers.
Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles
Coaches.

and the list goes on.  Although we are alone in our classrooms, we don't have to be.  Find an alma gemela (twin soul), find a muse, find a guardian angel.  Folks who will inspire you, encourage you, make you laugh, focus your intensity, and who have your back.  They are everywhere.....we just have to remember to get out of our classrooms and find them.

Thank  you to those who have made, and will continue to make me a better teacher.  This one's for you.

with love,
Laurie
