Why A Writing Chart?
There are so many writing skills that we can address as LOTE teachers. A Writing Chart like the one found here fulfills several purposes:
1. My favorite....additional input!!! It is a way to get some extra reading in!!
2. A resource for writing about a topic. This is a chart which a group of students used to write a summary of the movie.
3. A structural organizer. Take a blue marker. Highlight a character. Highlight any words/phrases that you would use to describe that character. Several characters can be done on one paper, or each student can choose a different character.
4. A quiz. Students pick 25 phrases that they know in English and write the meanings.
5. Brainstorming. Add additional phrases/words to the list that could be used to remember/share information about the topic.
As I dig addtional charts out of my files, I will try to put them on my website. If you are having trouble accessing anything, please let me know...I'm learning to be less of a technoweenie. :o)

Laurie
